Memorial Day Weekend

We usual camp during Memorial Day weekend but this year we decided to stay home.  It's been a great weekend so far.   We went flower shopping yesterday and ended up with 3 flats of impatiens.  We decided to plant them in our backyard along the back of the house where there is lots of shade.  I can't thank my daughter, Lauren enough for all the work she did yesterday.  When she was in Ireland she lived and worked at a castle and one of her jobs was working in the castle's greenhouse and garden.  She went right to work on our flowers and had some great tips on planting!

Last night we had our son-in-law's grandparents over for "game night".  What a fun night!  We played the dice game, Left Center Right and the card game, Screw Your Neighbor.  Both games were a blast!  Enjoyed great conversation, so many laughs and a few glasses of wine as well..haha.

Today we will be heading over to Walt's sister's house for a cookout.  It's always a good time at their house.  Can't wait to celebrate the holiday with our family and friends. Looking forward to hearing what everyone is doing for Memorial Day.  Whatever your plans include a party or just relaxing around the house, I hope you enjoy every minute of it!

  1. What fun!! You ALWAYS have so much good looking food to share at your parties!! The flowers will be beautiful when they spread out and fill that space. Share a photo later for us, please! No plans here. We would normally have a few friends over for a cookout, but I am still coughing and blowing and can't taste or smell (poor me). This too will pass, and having nothing to do isn't a bad thing...
